Your User Testing Zone

Now you can engage large numbers of children in online user-testing and quickly gather their feedback on your ideas and resources. You can see their responses to your first ideas or sketches, and engage them hands-on in testing your prototypes or reviewing your finished projects.

In the BBC Test Zone, for example, our children used and evaluating BBC online learning resources and we were able to provide the BBC with invaluable feedback from the age groups they want to reach. The BBC were delighted with the children’s honest, well considered feedback on their online learning resources and were able to make decisions that ensured their resources were right for their target audience and saved a great deal of time an money by avoiding blind alleys.

Your Test Zone Forum
At the heart of the Test Zone is a window to your online resource, embedded in a discussion forum. The children use your resource and immediately discuss their experiences within the forum. The IM research and mediation team actively stimulate the children’s curiosity and creativity and encourage them to discuss their experience of your project - their impressions, what they enjoyed, what they think they learned, what was easy, what was hard, what surprised or delighted them, what they didn’t understand, what help they needed, what didn’t work the way they expected, what was broken, what could be better, what new things they would like etc.

After anonymization, to protect children’s identities, IM will send you the content of the forums.

Options in the Test Zone
There's much more you can do in a Test Zone to learn what children think of your ideas and resources.
  • Instant Poll - Children complete a related poll with a multiple choice question on your project and instant display of aggregate results.

  • Dedicated Club - Children can post longer evaluative articles about your project to a dedicated club page.

  • Live Hot Seat - Children can take part in a live remote Hot-Seat focus-group with your design team, so you can talk to children directly from your studio or office in real time and they will tell you exactly what they think.

  • Research Survey - We can design a detailed survey to collate and analyze the children’s collective experience with your project.
Your Report
IM can collate and analyze all the children’s data and present a formal written report which includes outputs
of all relevant children’s content, shows patterns and trends in the responses, evaluates the strength of children’s opinions and makes recommendations for your consideration.

Benefits to Clients
You will receive confidential feedback which could include results of polls and surveys, extracts of forum discussions, children’s reports and a full analysis from IM staff.

So the children have fun exploring your ideas. You get valuable practical feedback straight from the children that could save you a great deal of time and money and help you home-in accurately on the tastes and needs of your target users, so reducing your risk and improving your chances of success.

As experienced content developers ourselves, we know how valuable it can be to have really practical feedback. We have over the years enjoyed the services of over 500,000 young bug-hunters in SuperClubsPLUS and GoldStarCafe and tens of thousands of children who regularly tell us how to improve the communities to meet their needs.

Now you can reach these children and benefit from their creative energy.

After the children tested the RSPCA Animals and Us online resource, the RSPCA said:

"Intuitive Media offered RSPCA a totally unique method of testing our new Animals and Us online resource, with primary children. The children gave us valuable insight into how they would use the resource and what to consider when developing this type of project in the future. IM's excellent presentation opened the eyes of senior management in the Society to the value of social networking for engaging young people."
