Learning Channels

You can help engage, educate and influence a rapidly growing online community of over 130,000 UK children, who are hungry to learn.

The Learning Channels in IM's social learning networks are focused around dedicated online magazines where children can participate in quizzes and competitions, forum discussions and expert hot seats on your subject or issues.

Your Learning Channel
Your Learning Channel will have an assigned Channel Editor who will work with you and your staff to create stimulating editorial and involve children in creative challenges and learning activities which they can pursue in school and at home, often involving their teachers and parents.
Research by the Scottish Executive found that using SuperClubsPLUS helped the majority of teachers engage more with their pupils and encouraged most parents to collaborate with their children on school work at home.
The Channel Editors and the community Mediators work together to stimulate the children’s engagement. The children submit their own articles and content to your sponsored Learning Channel, which in turn, stimulates other children’s activity, and so they build up a rich resource by-children-for-children.

One World Zone
The One World Zone, for example, is sponsored by the Department for International Development, and engages thousands of SuperClubsPLUS and GoldStarCafe children in global and development issues like Fair Trade, Poverty and Climate Change.

Content is kept up to date and helps children understand issues as they hit the news. Children will typically go on a fact finding mission and from their findings they create personal home pages around the issues. They invite others to visit their pages and they discuss their thoughts and discoveries in the dedicated One World forums. Children also submit articles to the One World Club magazine which helps build a bank of knowledge for other children. They meet with people from around the world in the One World Hot Seats and learn about their lives and cultures.

This peer to peer learning builds self esteem, capability, understanding and deep involvement in the issues.

Sponsor Benefits
Intuitive Media has an excellent track record in working with sponsors, and has for example worked with Tesco to provide their Learn Zone in the Millennium Dome at Greenwich, with NatWest to provide their Face2Face with Finance website. IM has won two Hollis Awards for Best Sponsored Project and Best Sponsored Education Project.

Sponsors will have their name associated with a learning community that is highly respected in the education community, that provides children with a safe alternative to the more dangerous social networking sites and that gives them unique learning opportunities. IM will actively support sponsors in PR initiatives and sponsors will be able to use the research and case studies that emerge from the projects for goodwill and PR purposes.
