Prof. Heppell Joins IM

Intuitive Media now has a new champion for its New Generation Learning Community. Professor Stephen Heppell, world-renowned expert in online education announces this week that he is joining the Board of Intuitive Media.

The current and future challenge for the education system and for schools is to relate to the bulk of children's learning, which is informal, voluntary, driven by their playfulness and curiosity and their need for social connection, experimentation, creative expression and growth in personal competence.
Most of children's learning is inaccessible to teachers and schools, as it happens outside school hours and school terms - in the family, in the community, in the street, in the park, in the car, on the beach, through the TV, the games console, the Internet. Informal learning is mostly unseen, unrecognized and unrewarded by schools, who find it difficult to monitor, assess and record and to relate to formal curriculum requirements.
